This tour is focused on the art of Michelangelo as sculptor. The itinerary follows the traces he left in Florence, visiting three important museums which house some of Michelangelo's most famous masterpieces, from youth to maturity. Your guide will explain Michelangelo's artistic evolution, his extraordinary skill in shaping human bodies and in expressing strength and energy through his marble wonderful works.

You will admire the Baccus, the world-wide known David, the Prisoners, four unfinished sculptures destined to adorn the tomb of Pope Julius II, the Allegories of the Day, Night, Dusk and Dawn, the statue of Lorenzo and Giuliano de' Medici, the Brutus, the Pietà Palestrina and the Saint Matthew.

Michelangelo's In Florence Tour Itinerary

This tour lasts about 5 hours. The tour itinerary can be personalized according to any visitors’ special request. The schedule usually includes the Accademia Gallery guided tour (about 1 hour and 30 minutes), a visit to the Medici Chapels (about 2 hours) and a visit to the Bargello Museum. The tour includes pre-booked entrance tickets to the three above museums. This tour can be personalized adding a final step to Santa Croce where there is Michelangelo's tomb.
