From April 29th to November 29th a show theater named “The medici Dynasty show” will be held at the Library of St. Giovannino dei Padri Scolopi (address: Piazza San Lorenzo, n. 6).
The show traces the history of the last years of the famous Medici dynasty, which had the political power of Florence from the Florentine Renaissance to the end of the XVIIIth century.
The main characters of the show are Gian Gastone Medici and his sister Maria Luisa. Maria Luisa took the power in the last days of the life of his brother and became famous for having bequeathed to the city all the artistic heritage.
Thanks to Maria Luisa’s will, Florence is today one of the most visited city in the world.
Actually, visitors can admire the fabulous treasures accumulated by the Medici family in the major museums of Florence; such as the Uffizi, the Palatine Gallery, the Accademia Gallery, the Costume Gallery and the Silver Museum.
